Union Mine players wore a “CB” sticker on their helmets in memory of coach Chic Bist.

Prior to Friday’s game between the Amador and Union Mine high school varsity football teams, Amador team captains presented the Union Mine team captains helmet stickers with the initials of Union Mine coach Chic Bist, who passed away last week after a 6-year fight with pancreatic cancer.

The Union Mine team presented Amador players with bracelets with a motivational saying the coach was known for.

A moment of silence was observed before the National Anthem as well.

It was a touching tribute to sportsmanship showing that while it may be a battle on the field, off the field we stand together.
