Castle Oaks Golf Club joined many other golf clubs across the country as a participant in the World’s Largest Golf Outing event on Monday, August 5.

The World’s Largest Golf Outing is the single largest charitable golf event held on one day that makes a significant impact in the lives of those who need it most: our nation’s veterans.

Local teams that joined in at the scramble golf tournament at Castle Oaks raised more than $5,000 for the Fisher House Foundation, Helping Military Families.

(Clockwise from top left) Angela Bennett, Vicki Holman, Kristi Costa and Teresa Ishiguro had a good time taking part in the event.

Since its inception, the Fisher House program has saved military and Veterans’ families an estimated $451 million in out of pocket costs for lodging and transportation.

Fisher House Foundation also operates the Hero Miles program, using donated frequent flyer miles to bring family members to the bedside of injured service members, as well as the Hotels for Heroes program using donated hotel points to allow family members to stay at hotels near medical centers without charge. The Foundation also manages a grant program that supports other military charities and scholarship funds for military children, spouses, and children of fallen and disabled Veterans.

Castle Oaks Golf Course was honored to take part in this year’s fundraising activities and greatly appreciates all the sponsors, players and volunteers that assisted in raising needed funds for the Fisher House Foundation so they can continue to assist in serving military and military Veterans’ families. A great time was had by all.
