Castle Oaks golf pro Teresa Ishiguro-Atlan will be part of a prestigious field of golfers competing at the second annual Senior LPGA Championship starting Monday at the Pete Dye Course at French Lick Resort in Indiana.
The field for the tournament, which runs Monday through Wednesday, features many current and past LPGA stars, including Major champions and Hall of Famers.
Ishiguro-Atlan earned her spot in the field by placing fifth at the LPGA Teaching and Club Professionals National Championship in August at Pinehurst in North Carolina. In that three-day tournament, she shot a 74, 76 and 79 on Pinehurst No. 8, finishing 13 strokes over par and earning a purse of $2,200.
“We are all so proud of her!” said Castle Oaks General Manager Dominic Atlan.
Next week’s Senior LPGA championship will be held over 54 holes for a total purse of $600,000. The event will be televised live on Golf Channel from 1 to 4 p.m. during the three competition days.
