I have found some goodies for you this time, so let’s all get out of our house and have some fun. Just think, winter is ‘almost’ over! And soon enough we will be able to visit Daffodil Hill.
For those of you that want to make a day of it, Murphy’s Irish Day 2019 will be held on Saturday, March 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in downtown Murphy’s. This is a rain or shine event, just like Amador’s Dandelion Days, being held on the same weekend. How about Murphy’s Irish on Saturday, and Dandelion Days on Sunday! Both have tasty foods, booths, lots of street vendors, and wonderful things to see.
For those of you that want a more ‘tame’ event, there’s Saturday Bingo at the Amador Senior Center on Saturday, March 16, doors open at 10 a.m. and the games start at noon. Game packs are $10. (Please, no splitting or sharing of packs.) Coffee and cookies are served.
The March ACAA Meeting takes place on Wednesday, March 13 and there is going to be a carving demonstration given by Aaron Bullock, who will be gourd carving – the pictures are absolutely stunning, so this one looks great. It takes place at the Amador Senior Center at 229 New York Ranch Road in Jackson and it starts at 7 p.m. The meetings are open to the general public. Aaron will be showing the materials he uses, how to manipulate clay and epoxy woods, and uses for gourd and non-gourd mediums including the tools of the trade.
The Lockwood Auxiliary’s outstanding Annual Taco Dinner will be held on Saturday, March 16 at 5:30, called “Taco De Marzo.” It takes place at Fire Station #152 on the corner of Hale Road and Shake Ridge Road. For just $10 you can build your own tacos with corn or flour tortillas, your choice of beef or chicken plus all the fixins, a great dessert, coffee and water. There will also be raffle prizes, and this is a fundraiser for the volunteer fire department.
That’s it for today. I will have many more interesting, inexpensive or free things for you to do in the future. I look forward to hearing from you if you know about something that you would like to share with fellow readers. My email address is: EmmaD@volcano.net.
