Amador College Connect, through Amador Community College Foundation, has been awarded $22,000 in scholarship funding from the Amador County Behavioral Health Department for students that have demonstrated financial need and are enrolled in the online Human Services Certificate program offered by Coastline College.
Student recipients of the MHSA Scholarship must be from Amador County, meet low income requirements, and seek to work in the public mental health field. Priority is given to students who have personal, first-hand experience with mental illness, either as a client or family member of a client.
Now in its sixth year, the MHSA Scholarship funds tuition, fees, books and paid internships with local social service agencies. Students are also eligible to receive stipends for activities such as peer-to-peer counseling and participation in extracurricular programs which enhance their educational pathway to a career in Public Mental Health.
Individuals interested in applying for the MHSA Scholarship are encouraged to call Amador College Connect at 209-217-8239 or e-mail email@example.com for details and application assistance. Scholarships are awarded on an ongoing basis and the next enrollment opportunity is Spring semester, January 2020.
