Amador COVID-19 Update
Amador County, CA – Amador County Public Health reports 33 more cases of COVID-19 since last Tuesday’s update, bringing the total laboratory confirmed case count to 1,708, and 1 more death. The individual who passed was a female in her 40s. The new cases include 16 males and 17 females, 3 children under the age of 18, 18 aged 18-49, 8 aged 50-64, 4 over 65 years of age; 6 residing in Ione, 5 in Jackson, 3 in Pine Grove, 9 in Pioneer, 3 residing Plymouth/surrounding areas and 7 living in Sutter Creek/Amador City. One Amador resident is currently hospitalized.
Next week, the COVID-19 testing site will change hours of operation. As of Monday, April 12, 2021, no-cost testing will be available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 7 AM to 3 PM at the Health and Human Services building rear parking lot located at 10877 Conductor Blvd, Sutter Creek. Drop-in testing is available. Drive around to the rear entrance of the building, park in the area designated by red cones, and remain in your vehicle. Last week, Amador County Public Health expanded COVID-19 vaccination clinics to include individuals 18 years of age and older who live or work in the county. Vaccine appointments may be scheduled by accessing clinic registration links on the Amador County Vaccine Information webpage: https://www.amadorgov.org/services/public-health/covid-19/vaccine-information. Appointments are currently available this week on Thursday and Friday, using Moderna vaccine, in addition to next week Friday, April 16th, using Johnson & Johnson Janssen single-dose vaccine. Amador Public Health Vaccine clinics are announced via e-notification and posted on the Amador COVID-19 website: https://www.amadorgov.org/services/covid-19. Over 21,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Amador to-date.
Jackson CVS, Safeway, Walgreens, and Walmart pharmacies are offering COVID-19 vaccine by appointment as well. Vaccine appointments are scheduled via their respective websites. Residents may also reach out to their health care provider to inquire if vaccine is available within their health care system.
California announced today that it is anticipated that on June 15, 2021 all industries across the state may return to usual operations with continued risk reduction measures such as masking and vaccinations. The move to fully reopen the economy will be linked to sufficient vaccine supply and low disease burden.
