Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at approximately 1:13 p.m. — Ione Police Department received a call from Ione Junior High School about a loud bang near the area of the school. The school went into lockdown mode as a precaution. Ione PD arrived on scene and determined the cause to be a blown transformer caused by an animal. PG&E and the Ione Fire Department assisted to restore power to the local residents affected by the power outage.
