Prescribed Burn

Camino – CAL FIRE in cooperation with Sierra Pacific Industries is scheduled to conduct a low intensity, prescribed burn on the Shake/Fiddle Vegetation Management Project (VMP) near the community of Lockwood. Dependent upon weather conditions and any restrictions set forth by the Amador County Air Pollution District, the burn will commence from approximately 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 8th and Friday, April 9th if necessary.

The Shake Fiddle VMP is located along Fiddletown Road and Ponderosa Way. The objective is to treat approximately 34 acres of timber under-story within the fuel break. Smoke may be visible in the area.

As with all CAL FIRE prescribed burns, this project will be evaluated on the day of the burn utilizing the Go/No Go Checklist that is based on weather and incident activity.
