The Highway 88 closure that has been in place between Peddlers Ridge in Amador County to the Highway 88/89 interchange (Pickett’s Junction) in Alpine County due to the Caldor Fire, has changed.
The westbound Highway 88/89 interchange at Pickett’s Junction in Alpine County, has moved to Kirkwood Meadows Drive in Kirkwood. The eastbound closure of Highway 88 remains at Peddler Hill in Amador County. There is no estimated time for reopening of Highway 88 as of 3:05 PM today.
Eastbound Highway 50 remains closed from Kyburz to Meyers as crews continue to work to contain the Caldor Fire with no estimated time for reopening of closure as of 3:05 PM today.
Caltrans, District 10 and Caltrans District 3, and their partners, are in constant communication monitoring the situation and will reopen the roadways when it is safe for the traveling public. Caltrans thanks motorists for their patience and cooperation.
