For Homeowners receiving cancellations or non-renewals and/or struggling to find affordable replacement insurance.
Kimm Bullard, 2019 and 2020 Amador County Association of REALTORS® President said that the insurance crisis is becoming an issue. Homeowners are receiving cancellations and are struggling to find affordable replacement insurance.
She went on to say, consumers wanting to become a homeowner are also facing challenges. Consumers that are qualified for a home loan with a projected insurance premium are finding that in fact their homeowners’ insurance has tripled or even doubled and no longer can afford the home of their dreams.
Homeowners are faced with purchasing a more expensive coverage that in some cases offers less coverage and protection in case of a catastrophe.
Bullard said she would like homeowners who have experienced issues to share their stories, so she may present them to the California Association of Realtors. The Amador Association of REALTORS® is working with Gov Hutchinson; Vice President and Assistant General Counsel of C.A.R to collect letters in association with other counties facing the same issue.
