The Amador County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, September 14 released an update on its investigation into an incident in Pine Grove that took place last week and left three people dead.

On Wednesday, September 8, at approximately 7:04 p.m., Amador County Sheriff’s Office dispatch received multiple calls of gunshots heard in the 21000 block of Homestead Road in Pine Grove. Ultimately, ACSO deputies located three deceased people at the residence.

The investigation has shown that this incident started as a family dispute between a father and his son. Autopsies and notification of family members have been completed.

The two homicide victims have been identified as 75-year-old male William Henry Dyer Sr. and 77-year-old female Cheryl Dyer. The manner of death for 46-year-old male William Henry Dyer Jr. has been deemed a suicide.
