Meeting on Monday, July 27, the Jackson City Council approved the distribution of COVID-19 assistance funds to 54 different businesses. With just more than $30,000 in the fund established by the city, each business will receive $556. The Jackson-based businesses cover a wide range of services, including many retail operations, professional services and restaurants. According to city staff, 24 of the businesses scheduled to receive the COVID-19 assistance funds have also reported receiving either federal or state assistance, including the Paycheck Protection Program.
