Budget adjustments were the order of the day at Monday’s Sutter Creek City Council meeting. The council voted to approve a pair adjustment to the previously-approved city budget, the first to pay for adjustments in city personnel, and the second to pay for repairs at the city auditorium.
In the personnel shift, the city dropped a full-time planning department position and replaced it with two part-time finance positions, with duties spread out over a number of city departments, including sewer and facility retails. Most of the planning department duties will now be handled by the City Manager. Overall, the city saves some $35,000 after these adjustments.
The council also approved $62,000 in repairs to the city auditorium. The most-used of any of the city’s facilities, the auditorium will see its windows and lighting replaced with more energy-efficient models, as well as a rehabbed kitchen facility with a new oven and refrigerator. The repairs will be paid for from the city’s general fund. This work will be an addition to the $120,000 previously approved by the council for work on the building’s bathrooms.
