letter

As the 2020-2021 school year comes to a close I find that I have so much to be grateful for as the new Jackson Junior High librarian. First, I get the privilege of following the footsteps of Ms. Callie. Current and former students love to recall memories of their beloved librarian.

Second, I am in awe of the teachers, students and families in our community. For goodness sake, you are resilient! Great job sticking with this crazy school year. Third, I am thankful for the community organizations that consistently show up for the youth of Amador County. Specifically the Jackson Rotary and their recent donation to the JJHS library. We will be able to update our Biography section and purchase additional STEAM resources for our students to check out. Between, the Jackson Lions Club and the men and women of the Jackson Rotary, we were able to accomplish every goal I set for our library.

Fourth, I would like to also thank Mrs. Marvel Rhoades of Pioneer for gifting our library with some First Edition Black Stallion books as well as books on horsemanship. Our students will benefit from your generosity.

Through the chaos of this year I have witnessed the spirit of community, kindness and love all around. Look and you will find it too. To our recently promoted eighth grade students, you have what it takes to succeed. Set your mind to it and remember who you are – you are wonderfully made!
