Fatal Accident

On Sunday, November 8, 2020, at approximately 4:50 p.m. the California Highway Patrol for Amador investigated a fatal collision on Highway 16 west of Willow Creek Road. The investigation revealed that Brant J. Alexander, 31, out of Diamond Springs, was driving his 2002 Toyota Tundra westbound on Highway 16 at Willow Creek Road at a speed that was unsafe for conditions. As Alexander drove past Willow Creek Road, he lost control of the vehicle and allowed it to travel across the eastbound lane and down an embankment. The vehicle began to overturn, and ultimately ejected Alexander. After rolling down the embankment and across a fence, Alexander’s vehicle came to a rest in an adjoining pasture. Alexander sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision. Highway 16 was not closed during this incident. It is unknown at this time whether alcohol and/or drugs played a role in this collision.
