Tom and Sue Slivick

Tom and Sue Slivick of TSPN TV were honored with the Publisher’s Award, the Best of the Best, at the 2019 Best of Amador Banquet held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at the Grand Oak Ballroom. Hundreds of local business owners, organizations and staff members were recognized as readers voted in their favorites for the annual Ledger Dispatch Best of Amador Awards in a variety of categories.

The Grand Oak Ballroom at Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort was filled to capacity as business owners, organizations, and individuals were announced by Ledger Dispatch Publisher Jack Mitchell as winners of the 2019 Best of Amador awards.

Thousands of votes were tabulated and verified from an independent panel outside of Amador County, to arrive at this year’s winning list.

The 2019 Best of Amador magazine will be inserted inside the Friday, October 18 edition of the Ledger Dispatch.

“I think it’s important for all of us to celebrate and recognize the achievements of the businesses and individuals that make living in Amador County so wonderful,” said Mitchell. “This is a huge project that the staff at the Ledger Dispatch has spent a great deal of time and effort to bring to our family of readers. People took the time to vote, and we need to take the time to make sure all the businesses get the recognition and spotlight they deserve.”

This year, the 2019 Best of Amador Banquet included a special Publisher’s Award, The Best of the Best, for Tom and Sue Slivick of TSPN TV for over 27 years of service and dedication to Amador County.

“I think Tom and Sue spent so much time promoting, sharing, and telling all of our stories that they missed one of the biggest stories — theirs,” said Mitchell. “They made history with what they achieved in building TSPN TV for Amador County. I think from the response of those in attendance at the 2019 Best of Amador Banquet, they both now realize what an impact they made at TSPN TV leading up to their retirement, and how much they still mean to our community in what they continue to do.”

Be sure to pick up the Friday, October 18 edition of the Ledger Dispatch for the official 2019 Best of Amador magazine.

“We’re planning on doing things a bit different this year, so you’ll see the winners showcased throughout the year,” said Mitchell. “We’re also working on plans so that next year everyone that wishes to take part in our awards show, can come celebrate and be recognized for all they provide.
