Fatality Art

On October 21, 2019, at approximately 7:42 p.m., California Highway Patrol (CHP Amador) officers investigated a fatal collision on Highway 88 west of Blue Sky Drive (Amador County). The investigation revealed that Party 1, a 66 year-old male from Ione, name withheld pending notification, was driving his 2003 Toyota westbound on Highway 88, west of Blue Sky Drive. For reasons that are yet to be determined, Party 1 collided with the rear of a 2005 Toyota driven by Party 2, a 35 year-old female from Valley Springs, name withheld pending notification. The force of the impact sent Party 2 into the opposing, or eastbound lane where it was struck by a 2018 Toyota driven by 73 year-old, Dennis Brooks, of Pine Grove. Party 1, Party 2, and a female passenger in Party 1’s vehicle, name withheld pending notification, all sustained fatal injuries as a result of this collision. Brooks was flown to a nearby trauma center with non-life threatening injuries. Highway 88 was closed in both directions for approximately 6 hours. It is unknown at this time whether alcohol and/or drugs played a role in this collision.
