Pacific Gas and Electric announced early Tuesday morning that the fourth Public Safety Power Shutoff began at 5:00 a.m. Amador and Calaveras Counties are expected to be shutoff at 4 p.m. and the final shutoff is anticipated to begin at 9 p.m. for Kern County. The PSPS will affect 596,000 customers in the Northern and Southern Sierras, North Bay, Bay Area, Santa Cruz mountains, North Coast and Kern County.
PG&E stated it will continue to monitor the wind event and alluded the fluctuations in conditions could prompt additional shutoffs. The utility reported it had restored approximately 57 percent of the 970,000 customers affected by the October 26 PSPS - as of 10 p.m. Monday, October 28, about 556,400 customers.
Customer Resource Centers are located at Mace Meadows Golf Course, 26570 Fairway Drive in Pioneer, Saint Katharine Drexel Catholic Parish, 11361 Prospect Drive in Jackson, for Amador County. Calaveras has CRCs at Black Bart Players, 580 South Algiers Street in Murphys; Meadowmont Shopping Center, 2182 Highway 4 in Arnold; and at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3322, 202 Spink Road in West Point.
