Betty Joanne (Cranfill) Moroni

Betty Joanne (Cranfill) Moroni, 84, passed into her heavenly home on July 5, 2019 at Kit Carson Nursing Home in Jackson, CA after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.  Betty was born in Reeds Springs, Missouri on March 25, 1935 to Desford and Mary Cranfill.  When Betty was a year old, the Cranfill family moved to California in search of a better life settling in Amador County where Betty would spend the majority of her life.  She graduated from Jackson High School in 1953.  She met the love of her life, Frank Moroni, at the roller skating rink at the Italian Picnic Grounds.  They married on September 26, 1957 and spent 51 years together until his death in 2008.

Betty spent many years in banking, beginning at the original Bank of Amador in Jackson and then at several Wells Fargo Bank locations in Sacramento.  She and Frank began Moroni Sheet Metal in Sutter Creek in 1972 and operated the business until they retired in 1992.  They enjoyed many years traveling in their bus which they had personally converted into a beautiful motorhome.

Betty’s love and devotion to her family and many friends will never be forgotten.  She was a Godly example to everyone around her.

Betty is survived by her stepchildren, Michael (Janet) Moroni of Placerville, CA, Joseph (Anne) Moroni of Fair Oaks, CA, and Denise (Ralph) Delgado of Arizona; her siblings, Bill (Patricia) Cranfill of Lakeside, OR, Ron (Charlotte) Cranfill of Sutter Creek, CA, Helen (Dick) Granlund of Jackson, CA, and Nancy Monson of Carson City, NV.  She was a beloved second Mom to her nephew Scott Spiva and nieces Arlene Spiva-Nunes and Robin Ross.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Moroni; stepdaughter, Francine Welp; and parents, Desford and Mary Cranfill.
