James Dudley Knight died on April 3rd, 2019 in Lodi, CA at the age of 88. He was born on December 25, 1930 in Salina Kansas. Growing up he was very active in the Boy Scouts and became an Eagle Scout, later working for the organization.
He was born to parents Ralph and Evelyn Knight. He grew up in Kansas and received a BS degree at Kansas State University in Business Administration. He then went into the US Army serving in the Korean War as a pilot, serving his country for 4 years and then 6 years as a reserve officer. He was a member of the American Legion.
James loved archery and was a member of Lodi Bowmen for many years. He also loved traveling with his wife, Lucy, in their Motor Home, taking trips to Alaska, Baja and around the United States, spending winters in Arizona. He was a member of Foothill 49ers RV Group. After retiring from a career in sales with Pfizer, Coty cosmetics and John Deere in Stockton, they then moved to Mt Ranch and Jim worked as a school bus driver in Calaveras County and loved all the children he drove.
Jim and Lucy made their final home in Jackson where they have lived for the last 10 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Lucy of 35 years, two sons John (Patty) of San Diego, Jim (Michelle) of San Jose, along with two stepdaughters Rebecca Jauregui of Pioneer, Peggy Wentz (Rod) of Lodi, a stepson Dennis Carlton, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Also many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Jennie, his daughter Katherine, his two sisters and his parents.
A memorial service will be held on May 11th at the Rollingwood Estates Club House in Jackson at 11:00 am.
