Joan Louise Foote left her earthly life to sing with the angels on December 29, 2020. Born June 6, 1935 in Long Beach California, to the lateMyrtle Bertha (Kuehn) and Jack G White, Joan grew up in Avenal, California, graduating from Avenal High School in 1953. Joan will be remembered for her love of family, Jesus, and music. She leaves behind the love of her life, Rouze, her devoted husband of 66 years. Rouze is joined by their daughters Rouze’, Jacquelyn, Michele, and Suzanne and their current and future sons-in-law, Kent, John, Tim, and Tom, to mourn Joan’s passing. Her eight grandchildren, Amanda, Charissa, Robert, Zachary, Christopher, Jon, Jessica, and Juliana (along with their spouses) grieve the loss of their precious Nana. Joan leaves behind eighteen great-grandchildren who will miss her smile, her laugh, and her kind spirit, as she holds an additional great-grandson in heaven.
Joan left her influence on hundreds of children as a second grade teacher at Jackson Elementary School for more than 20 years, as a Sunday school teacher and a 4-H leader. Joan and her beloved husband enjoyed travels with friends and snorkeling in the waters of Hawaii. A Sutter Creek resident for over 60 years, as well as a member of both Sutter Creek United Methodist Church and Trinity Episcopal Church, Joan’s sharp wit and generosity will be missed by her many friends, in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Jack, Bill, and Margaret (Peggy); Joan has undoubtedly fallen into their loving arms once again.
A private graveside service will be held for the family in January. A celebration of her life will be announced in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Inter-Faith Food Bank, 12181 Airport Rd. Jackson, CA 95642, www.feedamador.org.
