John Snooks died surrounded by his family at his home in Nevada on October 25, 2019 at the age of 72.
John is survived by his sister Diane and brother-in-law Clarence Marks, son Johnny Snooks and daughter-in-law Brenda Snooks, daughter Carol Snooks and son-in-law Lawrence Sallee, son Nick Wilson and daughter-in-law Corinna Zamora, son Xavier Wilson and daughter-in-law Kourtney Wilson. Grandchildren Ciera Snooks, Ryan Snooks, Kyle Revell, Nicolas Wilson, Jace Wilson and Jeremiah Wilson. Great grandkids Ryder Snooks and Lily Snooks. John is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Born April 7, 1947 on his family’s property in Pine Grove, John was born to Mamo and Isabel Snooks. John's spent lots of his childhood amongst his extended family and was close to them all his life.
John attended grammar school at the red school house in Pine Grove and attended Amador High School.
John married Tana Hamill on November 21, 1970. John and Tana lived in Pine Grove with their children. John was preceded in death by Tana in 2002. In 2003, John moved to Nevada and lived the rest of his life there.
John enjoyed spending time with his family playing handgame and hunting deer in the pinenut hills of Nevada. John loved his beer and cigarettes.
John worked in logging, the salt mines of Louisiana, for Sierra Pacific, and for the Jackson Rancheria.
Funeral services were held in Nevada on October 31, 2019.
