Lillie Arlene Heinkel
Resident of Sutter Creek
August 9, 1945 – February 13, 2021
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a wonderful woman, known primarily by everyone as Arlene. She had been dealing with many health issues for a while but now is resting in peace. Born in Los Angeles, CA but grew up in the Bay Area with her numerous brothers and sisters. She graduated from Fremont High School in Sunnyvale where she met the love of her life, Mark. They spent most of their life raising a family in San Jose, CA. Her passion was her family and loved to play Gin rummy and board games like Scrabble and Rummikub. She loved spending many weekends and summers camping with her siblings, friends, nieces, and nephews.
Arlene took great pride in her job as a homemaker and raising her children. As a young woman, she experienced numerous jobs such as working in a convalescent home and as a Quality Inspector at Intel Corporation. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always made an effort to be with them for all the milestones in their lives. She showed her love for everyone with her big bear hugs, thoughtful gifts, hearty laughs, and bright smile. At times, she was wild, crazy, funny, and inappropriate in the best possible way. No one had a bigger heart than Arlene.
She is survived by her loving husband Mark of 58 years and her beloved children, Jon (Marian) Heinkel of San Jose, Matt Heinkel of Sutter Creek, and Christine Stuart of Pioneer. She was the proud Grammy of Sharilyn, Tyler, Lilli, Jonathan, Jilli, and Camryn. Also, affectionately known as GG to Chloe, Everleigh, Vahe, Liam, Weston, and Nyla. Preceded in death by her parents, Alvia and Virginia Rannals, and two siblings.
Due to the Covid crisis, no immediate services will take place. A private memorial will happen at a later date. Condolences can be sent to the family by visiting www.danerimortuary.com and signing the guest book.
