Robert Dean Williams
October 4, 1943 – November 29, 2020
Robert “Bob” Williams died in his home on November 29, 2020, due to neuro endocrine cancer throughout his body and diagnosed in August.
Bob was born on October 4, 1943 in Powell, Wyoming to his parents Robert and Edith Williams. He served in the Army from 1963 to 1966 and was stationed in Germany. He graduated from La Sierra University in 1969. He married Suzan Williams (nee Farrell) in 1968. The Williams’ lived in San Rafael, CA for 10 years and then in Pleasant Hill, CA for 40 years. They retired to Ione, CA in 2018.
Bob worked in computers for Union Oil Company, Security Pacific Leasing Company, Victor Moulding, and American Home Shield. He retired in 1998. He worked for his daughter’s accounting firm the last eight tax seasons in Davis, CA.
Bob was an active member of the Seventh-day-Adventist church his entire life. He taught Sabbath school classes and led Pathfinders for many years in Pleasant Hill. He sang in church choirs and played trumpet with many groups throughout the East Bay Area, and played in the Amador County Community Band. Bob was a member of Toastmasters for 20 years. He was an active hiker, weightlifter and bicyclist.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Suzan Williams, by their children Elizabeth (Brook), Heather (Rocky) and Eric (Carla); by his sister Irene (Ben) and brother Ken (Fredy).
After retirement he spent as much time as he could with his eight grandchildren, Laura, Shane, Caleb, Beatrix, Shelby, Rachel, Ansel and Hannah.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later-date at the Sutter Hill Seventh-day Adventist church.
