Vivian Anna Christina Ferrell passed away on March 11, 2020, in Jackson
California at the age of 105! She was a native Californian who was born to Julia and Oscar Tellefson on February 18, 1915. She remembers as a child seeing Luther Burbank walking down the sidewalk past her home. He always tipped his hat to the children in the neighborhood.
Vivian was the youngest of four children. Her parents and her siblings
predeceased her. Her siblings were Irving, Doryce, and Sidney. She graduated
from San Jose High School in 1933. After high school she worked sorting fruit for canning. During those years she met a neighbor, Ed Ferrell, whom she began dating. They were married in 1937 and moved to Long Beach soon after. In 1940 their first son, John was born. In 1945 Vivian gave birth to the second son, Daniel. She was a homemaker for the rest of her life.
Vivian’s husband, Ed, was very busy with the boys and Boy Scouting. They spent many weekends with activities. She was involved with the Methodist Church in Long Beach and always sang in the choir.
In 1975 Vivian and Ed moved to Sutter Creek to be near their grandchildren.
Vivian immediately joined the choir at Jackson United Methodist Church. She was also involved with the Methodist Women's group.
Vivian’s son John and his wife Judy gave Vivian two grandchildren, Andrea (Steve Hauser) from Jackson, Keith (Lise—Lott) Ferrell from Singapore. She also had five great—grandchildren, Justin (Haley) Maciel, Patrick and Amy Hauser, Kiana and Kaidan Ferrell.
As shown in her picture she loved her coffee! She will be greatly missed.
