DANDELION

Rides and games for children are part of the fun at Dandelion Days.

 

Downtown Jackson will overflow with antiques and crafts, live music, pancake breakfast, kids’ carnival and food booths, Saturday and Sunday, March 16 and 17, 2019, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine.

New this year in recognition of Dandelion Days’ origins, the Wells Fargo Bank parking lot will be dedicated to Yard Sale vendors for household items, collectibles, and “junque,” at a reduced fee.

The Lions Club will hold a Pancake Breakfast, which starts at 7 a.m. both mornings at the Jackson Civic Center, 33 Broadway. Cost is $7 per person, kids 12 & under, $5.

 Live music stages, sponsored by the National Hotel and Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort, will be in Petkovich Park and in the Logan’s Alley Beer & Wine Garden (by the creek next to the National Hotel). 

At the National Hotel on Saturday, Darcel and Company with play from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Blow Daddy will play from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Groove Deluxe will play from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and After Dark will play from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. On Sunday, Groove Deluxe will play from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., After Dark will play from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and Blow Daddy will play from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

DANDELION

At Petkovich Park on Saturday, the Sultan of Silly will play from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Fish ‘N Chicks will play from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Darcel and Company will play from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Slade Rivers Band will play from 4 to 5:30 p.m. On Sunday, Slade Rivers Band will play from 10:30 a.m. to noon, She Calls Him Wilson will play from 12:30 to 2 p.m. and Darcel and Company will play from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

Food booths and the kids carnival will be set up between Petkovich Park and the Ledger Dispatch office.

New this year:  The Wells Fargo parking lot will be dedicated to “Yard Sale” booths as in the early days of the event - used household items, tools, furniture, and more.  

People attending the event are encouraged to bring used eyeglasses and hearing aids to donate to the Lions Club, and can also bring other items that support charitable causes such as used printer cartridges and pull tabs. The donation table will be near the Lions Club Trailer.

Bunsen to Beakers 5K (not a Jackson Lions Club event) benefits science programs at Jackson schools. The race starts at 8 a.m., at Detert Park Scout Hut. For registration forms or info, contact Dan Klement at danklement1@gmail.com

Free parking with shuttle to Main Street is available at the Amador County Administration Building, 810 Court Street and the Sutter Hill Transit Center, 115 Valley View Way, Sutter Creek. Free shuttle will be provided by Amador Transit. Paid parking will be available at Grocery Outlet (no overnight parking there).
