Marianne Harris found her way to pastels after experimenting with colored pencils, charcoal and oil paints. Marianne took a class from her mentor, Lesley Harrison, a renown pastel painter of wildlife, and she was hooked!

Animals are a passion of Marianne’s and are generally a focus of her art. When she chooses a subject, she looks for a whimsical character, somewhat playful and/or slightly mischievous. What she loves most is how pastels allow her to create soft, realistic paintings that bring the viewer close to her subject.

Gallery 10 is delighted to showcase Marianne’s pastels for the month of August. Although there will be no reception due to current restrictions, we invite you to visit the gallery and enjoy these beautiful paintings. Gallery 10 is open Thursday-Monday, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., at 15 Eureka Street, Sutter Creek.
