On September 26, 2019- Girl Scout Troop 2063 held a Little Free Library Dedication in the Plymouth Park during the end-of-summer farmer’s market. This is the third Little Free Library that the girls have restored and installed. The entire Girl Scout Troop painted it a sky blue and decorated it with their own whimsical style on the sides; completing it with their troop number on the front glass door. They not only restored, repainted, reinstalled the Little Free Library but filled it with new and donated books that they collected for children to enjoy. In 2016, Cadettes, Anna, Carmen and Kailey, started restoring Little Free Libraries to earn their Girl Scout Bronze Awards for community service in 2019. These girls have committed their time and fundraising efforts to completing projects to increase literacy and inclusion. The 27 Little Free Libraries in Amador County has profoundly increased access to books to people of all ages. Troop 2063 not only plans to continue this project but expand it and other projects to give back to Amador County through out the 2019-2020 Girl Scout Season.
