Featuring everything from books to jewelry to furniture and old trunks, the open-air, rain or shine market is a definite hit for Amador County.

The loved Old Sutter Creek Flea Market, held monthly on the third Sunday at the Italian Picnic Grounds, has just celebrated its second anniversary. Featuring quality, true vintage, antiques and collectibles from the 1970’s or older, you never know what finds you may see; anywhere from antique furniture and home decor, vintage jewelry and clothing, rare books and magazines, advertising and fan collectables and more, event organizers and owners of Tigby Hill Vintage in Sutter Creek Peter Torres and Mary Panzarino pride the quality of the items for sale at the market.

“It feels amazing, unreal that it has been two years, we have just marked the second anniversary of the Old Sutter Creek Flea Market last month,” Mary smiled. “This is not a craft fair or a yard sale, where you would find handmade and modern items; the Old Sutter Creek Flea Market only has true antiques, vintage and collectible items. Of course, Peter and I make 10 or so rounds around the Old Sutter Creek Flea Market ourselves, shopping for our store, Tigby Hill Vintage and ourselves…that’s why we started it! The Italian Picnic Grounds, our vendors and visitors took a chance on us, and we appreciate all of you for taking the chance. We have 40-70 seasoned vendors on average, some of which have been with us every month since the beginning, and visitors who travel as far as from the LA and Bay Areas just to shop at the Old Sutter Creek Flea Market.”

“We hope that with the Old Sutter Creek Flea Market, more people from out of the area discover the great shops, history, restaurants and wines of Amador County, and bring more people up here,” Peter finished. “We have been so blown away by the outpour of support and well-wishes. This is the perfect place for an event like this, because there are so many old, historic homes and properties where new buyers may find forgotten items in the attic, or at great estate sales, things that are from Amador County residents. We hope surrounding towns feel the positive impact from the market, and it gets more young people interested in vintage and antiques. We are dog-friendly and also, anyone who is driving a classic car to the Old Sutter Creek Flea Market gets in free! Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you in November and December, for the last two Old Sutter Creek Flea Markets of 2019.”
