Network of tuition-free TK-12 online public schools start its school year receiving high marks on Parent Satisfaction Survey

San Juan Capistrano – Students across 32 counties in California logged onto their computers today for their first day of the 2022-2023 school year at California Connections Academy, a tuition free-online public school serving students in grades TK-12 in California. The school serves more than 8,100 new and returning students across California.

California Connections Academy, now in its eighteenth year of serving students across the Golden State, has a demonstrated history of expertise in the independent study, learning-from-home model. Equipped with highly-skilled teachers and a curriculum that emphasizes both academics and helping to build fundamental life skills, students are encouraged to take advantage of learning opportunities both in the virtual classroom and beyond. The school’s teachers are specially trained to bring their skills and personality to the online classroom and emphasize the importance of fostering meaningful connections with students and their families. Daily learning plans are flexible and can be personalized based on a student’s needs.

“We’re excited to welcome back students, both new and existing, for another year full of fun and educational growth with California Connections Academy,” said Dr. Richard Savage, California Connections Academy Superintendent. “We are proud to offer California families a high-quality, experienced and reliable online school option that facilitates an empowering environment where students are set up for success.”

Students head back to school on the heels of the school’s recently released 2021-2022 Parent Satisfaction Survey, an annual third-party survey that provides families with the opportunity to review their experience with California Connections Academy. According to the survey results:

  • 96% of parents agree their children are satisfied with the program
  • 93% of parents agree their children are making good progress
  • 94% of parents agree that the curriculum is high quality
  • 94% of parents would recommend California Connections Academy to parents whose children are not enrolled in the program.

With a flexible, non-traditional learning environment, California Connections Academy students receive an individualized approach to learning with access to advanced courses and activities that go beyond academics and help students develop the skills they need for life after school. The school’s high school curriculum offers advanced coursework including University of California “A-G” courses, NCAA core courses, and career-oriented electives for students interested in exploring their passions and potential career pathways. California Connection Academy allows students to take ownership of both their unique educational and personal journeys through a variety of opportunities from in-person field trips to online extracurriculars like clubs and other interest-based activities.
