The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 10 has completed a drainage improvement project on State Route 104/Main Street between Buena Vista and Church streets in downtown Ione.
The new drainage system will hold and move more water, thus reducing ponding and flooding.
Crews installed a concrete valley gutter for surface storm water flow connected to three drainage inlets along the south side of Main Street and applied hot-mixed asphalt and striped the roadway.
The $310,000 project was conducted by AM Development of El Dorado Hills, CA.
Caltrans thanks our partner agencies, local businesses and the community for their patience and cooperation during this project.
