In loving memory of Beverly M. Woodard (Hall), who passed away peacefully at her home in Sutter Creek, CA on February 18, 2023 at the age of 85. Beverly was born on September 15, 1937 to Marvin Hall and Miriam Hall in Mobile, Alabama. She graduated from Alabama State University in Montgomery AL, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Education and later pursued a teaching career in California. The family moved from Mobile, AL to the Sacramento area in 1964 and eventually settled in Fair Oaks. Beverly moved to Sutter Creek in 2019. She loved the natural beauty of her new home and enjoyed the deer, turkeys, bears and other animals that visited her property.
Beverly joins her late husband Curtis Woodard in heaven. She is survived by her five children, Felicia (Zamora), Gillette (Strazzo), Curtis, Bryan and Kendall; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who she loved very much.
She loved teaching children and spent 34 years as an elementary school teacher for the Grant Unified School District in Sacramento. She enjoyed her grandchildren and being part of family trips to Lake Tahoe and other family events. She found pleasure in her hobbies of gardening, knitting and sewing and was working on her first quilt before she passed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Sacramento Loaves and Fishes, a nonprofit providing homeless survival services in the Sacramento area located at 1351 N C Street, Sacramento, CA 9581, (916) 446-0874, secure.sacloaves.org/np/clients/sacloaves/survey.jsp?surveyId=1&.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 11, 2023 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 115 Court Street, Jackson, CA.
